I used to be able to read so much more, now I’m good to listen to a book once every couple of months. So sad to me! I need to get back to doing more of what I love!
So, these are books I have read, listened to & read again….I’ve learned so much from these books (& SO many others) & am grateful they were referred to me by mentors, friends & experts.
Let’s take a look!
1) Rich Dad Poor Dad (of course!)
This was one of the first “Transformation” books I read. Then I worked for Robert & Kim Kiyosaki, another life transformation. I’ve heard people make comments about if there really was a “Rich Dad”…& I literally just laugh & think “Does it matter? This book is not for you then, if you can’t get the points to the story”. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve met someone who has never read this book. I read this book every year, if not every other year. This book is a reminder to keep on keepin’ on, with the goals & targets I have set for myself.
2) The Power of Broke
LOVE this read. Damon Johnson recounts his experiences with FUBU & his brilliance from the beginning in seeing opportunities & creating solutions in his community at an early age. It’s a recounting of his “broke” upbringing & the persistence in that entrepreneurship spirit.
3) Launch
Jeff Walker is to me, a bit of a pioneer, with teaching the principles of how to Launch a business. He gives great info on getting things going & his experience of being a stay at home dad is a great example of a catalyst to succeed.
4) Yes! Energy
Loral Langemeier is actually one of the first women who was a great example to me about getting what you want as a woman & that it’s ok to want what you want. She has a coupe of books that I’ve loved actually, such as “The Millionaire Maker” & “Wealth Cycles”
5) Wealth Habits
I love Candy Valentino’s no BS approach to the truth of starting a business & how it gives way to more of the in depth info that we sometimes don’t like to talk about…ddduuunnn ddduuunnnn dddduuunnnn…taxes or insurance as self employed individuals.
6) Two Weeks Notice
Amy Porterfield knocks it out of the park with this book. This is like the Lead Gen blueprint for a business. She hits content, lead magnets, growing your list, ideal clients, really, the bread & butter of your business!
7) The Jackrabbit Factor
Now, this is not an in your face business book, however, it is a story that relates a struggling husbands quest to improve his families lives. Leslie Householder is an amazing story teller with not only her own story, but the story that plays out in Jackrabbit Factor & then it’s predecessor “Portal to Genius”.
8) Playing With F.I.R.E
A concept I’ve always been interested in. Financial Independence Retire Early. Scott Rieckens tells his experience within the F.I.R.E protocol. While I’m still looking to figure out HOW to have it all, I think the F.I.R.E movement is a great idea & start to live life on your terms & how to make it happen.
9) The Glitter Plan
I always love to hear the back story & subsequent success story of the “HOW” people get started. This is a fun story about the “Juicy Couture” girls & their entrepreneur story.
10) Double Double
Cameron Herold has this amazing way of explaining the intricacies of how a corporation COULD BE exceptional through efficient operations & employee appreciation! Novel concepts, I know!! I just kept saying “Yep”, as I listened to this book! So, know what to look for as you scale your company, or one you work for!
I really enjoy listening to books. Not only do I gain motivation, but love the opportunities to gain more quotes, insights & lessons for those who are farther along than me in the process. I hope you find the same with the books I’ve shared!!
Best,
